John Boyd Sebesta

In Loving Memory of John Boyd Sebesta July 11, 1945 ~ October 25, 2017 John B. Sebesta, 72, departed this life on Wednesday October 25, 2017 after having lived a full life in Angleton, TX. He was born to John J. and Margaret G. Sebesta as the oldest son of four children. He spent his life in the outdoors, first as a child in the late 40's helping his family farm and raise animals, and then later as an adult as both a farmer and welder. Farming and ranching was his life's ambition and he was able to pursue it for many years. Later in life he worked as a welder traveling the country to jobs. This gave him a wide range of friends in many areas of the US and the opportunity to sight-see and discover interesting locations where ever the job took him. Traveling also gave him the ability to indulge in his love of collecting and provided him many occasions to stop at antique stores to look for unique or interesting items. Pursuits that kept him in the outdoors and gave him the chance to hunt were some of his greatest pleasures. His favorite hunts were those in the back country, allowing him to rough it like the old west, riding horses and camping. His travels and jobs took him all over, equipping him with stories of his youth or of people he had met and the interesting things they had to say. He found enjoyment in creating things with his hands and teaching his skills to others. He taught many friends and family to weld and was proud of the skills they acquired. His place in heaven was made ready by his father and mother who preceded him. He is survived by his daughters, Tara Wandel and husband Bret, Amanda Oliver and husband Michael. His grandchildren, Taylor Martinez and husband Ricky, Garrett Wandel, Caitlyn and Adrienne Olive, and great-grandchild, Khloe' Gallardo, his sisters, Earline Holston, Katie Wellman and husband Robert, his brother Bruce Sebesta, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. Special thanks to ex-wife Carol Sebesta for her care and accictance in his final days. Pall bearers are Garrett Wandel, Ricky Martinez, nephews Josh and Logan Sebesta, Bret Wandel, Michael Oliver, Chris Freeman, and Stephen Judd Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Sebesta and Steve Freeman. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Palms Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Lopez. He will be laid to rest in the Angleton Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, October 29, 2017 also at the funeral home.
