John Douglas 'Johnnie' Faickney

February 13, 1915 — May 10, 2012

John Douglas lived 97 wonderful years. She was born February 13, 1915 at Retrieve Plantation near Angleton to Carla Darrah and John Douglas Weems. She attended Angleton High School where she met her husband "Doc" Faickney. She helped her husband at Faickney Lumber for many years and raised two children, Mary Ann and Bubba. She was a member of Eastern Star, Angleton Study Club, First Methodist Church and Thursday Bridge Club. She was a loving mother and especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their sports activities. A dedicated wife, and a true friends she always set a great example for others. John Douglas is survived by her son Robert Faickney and wife, Donna Baker, a daughter, Mary Ann Abernathy, grandchildren, Elizabeth Poindexter and husband, John, Harrison Faickney, Chandler Faickney, great grandchildren, Robert and Katherine Poindexter, and niece, Beth Loggins. Special thanks to her friends of the Thursday Bridge Club lasting over 50 years together. Rosa Reyes and Georganne Williams many thanks for your loving attention and support. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas, with a viewing before the service.
