John Thomas "Bud" Blessing John Thomas "Bud" Blessing went home to His Lord & Savior on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. Memorial services are set for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Life 4 Square Church in Angleton. Bud was born on October 27, 1935 in Lamesa, TX to James & Birdie Blessing. Everyone knew Bud as a diehard Longhorn fan from his bright orange tennis shoes to his orange Camaro. He served in the US Army and retired from Dow Chemical after 31 years of service. One of his greatest joys was coaching girl's softball & little league baseball. His greatest passion was dancing with his beloved wife, Joyce. Bud had a special place in his heart for his many nieces & nephews. Survivors include his sons; Duke Blessing & wife Renee of Angleton, TX, Jon David Blessing of Denver, CO & Chris Blessing of Angleton, TX. Brothers; Herman Blessing & wife Judy of Austin, TX and Jimmy Blessing & wife Mary of Clarksville, TN. Grandchildren: Sidney, Dylan, Carly & Holt Blessing, Jessica, John & Justin Machelski, Cassidee Hempner & Melanie Erickson, and numerous friends and family members that he loved so dearly. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Blessing, daughter, Kathy Blessing, parents; James & Birdie Blessing & brothers Ted Blessing & Gene Blessing.
