Johnnie Christine Mccleney

Chris (Nannie) McCleney, 94, of Angleton passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th, followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Conner officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18th, at Lake Grove Cemetery, Iola, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Chris was born to John and Ruby Wells on July 6, 1919 in Iola, Texas. She has been a resident of Angleton since 1941. She worked for Angleton ISD in the cafeteria back in the mid '40s and drove the special education bus until her retirement. Chris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Angleton. She so looked forward to attending the ActionS meetings every morning and being with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom McCleney; son, Clark McCleney, brothers Howard Lee and 'Shorty' Wells; grandson Tony Parten and great grandson Tyler McCleney. Survivors include son Dickie McCleney & wife Sandra of Killeen, daughters Shirley Parten & husband Albert, Kathy Howard & husband R.L. all of Angleton. Grandchildren Donna Connell & husband Mitch of Belton; Brett McCleney & wife Tammy of Paige; Tom Parten & wife Micky of Angleton; Christi McCracken & husband J.T. of Columbia Lakes; Callie Howard of Angleton; Bubba Archie & wife Brandy of Angleton. She has 12 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be all her grandsons.
