Johnny Lloyd Gossett

Johnny Lloyd Gossett, 76, of Angleton Tx, passed away at Country Village Care where he has been a resident since March 18, 2020. He was born in Brady, Tx on July 29, 1946.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cynthia Flippo Gossett, also his son Stephen Lloyd Gossett, grandchildren Schyler Scott & Hannah Gossett. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Gossett and wife Violet, of Brownwood Tx, and sister Barbara Anderson of Brady, Tx and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Hattie Estelle Gossett and son, John Scott Gossett.

Johnny joined the National Guard in 1967. He came to Brazoria County seeking work at Ramsey Prison. In 1970 he went to work in West Columbia at Community Public Svc. He began his career at Dow Chemical in 1979 working in the Power Distribution Shop B 847. Johnny worked for 27 years before retiring December 13, 2006 and beginning his battle with Parkinson's full time. He was diagnosed in 1995 & succumbed to this battle July 15, 2023.

Johnny was a family man. He loved camping, hunting, bike races and family vacations. He spent many hours with his grandchildren camping, swimming, skating and big wheel races. His joy was his granddaughter.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Tx. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Angleton Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Gossett, Johnathan Powell, Alex George, John Ripple, James McKnight & Josh Rios. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer is Robert (Bobby) Abshire.

The Family would like to thank the staff at Country Village Care for the care that Johnny received, and each and every person that took the time to put a smile on his face and joy into his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Johnny's memory to The Gathering Place, PO Box 200, Angleton, Texas 77516. Johnny spent many happy hours at The Gathering.
