Johnny Lynn Collier

November 7, 1938 — April 17, 2013

Johnny Lynn Collier November 7, 1938 to April 17, 2013 Johnny was born to Marie and Jessie Raymond Collier in Hiedenheimer, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Marie and Jessie Raymond Collier; brothers, Raymond Jr, Ray Harrison, and Harold Collier. Johnny is survived by his wife, Jewell Collier; children, Carol Collier, Lorie Allen, Robert Starr, Darrell Edwards, Jimmy Edwards, Billy Edwards, and Gerri Jones; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brother, Terry Collier. Johnny retired after 33 years of service to Dow Chemical and continued to work giving his caring services to his family and the mobile home park he and his wife have owned and operated for over 30 years. Johnny married the love of his life, Jewell, on May 2, 1969 and brought an unlikely family together through the years. He nurtured and molded his family as no other father, husband or grandfather. He is known in his family as "the dad he didn't have to be". His love, and kindness, and giving ways are going to be missed more than can ever be explained. Johnny fought a long hard battle to stay here with his family but finally gave himself to the lord with his family next to him. He will always be remembered and missed by all that knew him, but when he's thought about he will make you smile and always bring back one of the many memories he has left behind. Rest in peace now, Honey, Dad, Paw, we will catch up, be looking for us. It's not goodbye it's see ya later. The family would like to thank Grace for being such a blessing and help. (Brittney and Nacrissa, Thank you.) Viewing will be held Friday from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. for the family and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. for friends.
