Jose D Gonzales Sr.

Jose D. Gonzales Sr., 90, of Angleton, went to be with his Heavenly Father on, February 2, 2021. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Alberta Gonzales; daughter, Josephine Gonzales; son, Ricky Gonzales; and granddaughter, Tiffany Gonzales. Jose will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Joe Ernest Gonzales Jr.; Clem Gonzales (Sylvia); Gary Gonzales (Linda); daughters, Becky Gonzales (Dora); Esther Garcia; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also remembered by his nieces and nephews. Jose was born November 17, 1930 in Houston. He married the love of his life, Alberta, in March 1947. Although they were both young, they had a strong bond that led them to build their legacy in Angleton for over seven decades. Always a hard worker, Jose built many businesses in the Angleton area. Many knew him as "Mr. G" of the Hancock Washateria on Hancock St. He took pride in his establishments and was always willing to help out a customer or friend. By far, he took most joy in his family. His favorite times were spent having celebrations with his family during holidays and birthdays. Jose also loved creating music with his harmonica and accordion with friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 5:00PM - 7:00PM with a rosary beginning at 7:00PM at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral mass will be 10:00AM Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Most Holy Trinity Church of Angleton. Burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery. Space is limited due to COVID-19 and masks are required. Pallbearers are Lupe Garcia Jr., Kevin Gonzales, Armando Damian, Sergio Juarez, Daniel Cavazos and Joseph Howell Sr. Service Details.
