Joseph Lavanon Whitlock Sr.

Joseph L. Whitlock, 87 of Rosharon passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born July 28, 1925 in Roswell, New Mexico to Joseph Blaine and Minnie Lewis Whitlock. Joseph enjoyed working with leather and saddles and drawing and painting. He was a golden glove boxer in the Navy, a rodeo clown and above all, a real cowboy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Stella Ruth; parents and brothers, Rhea and Sidney and sister, Estareva. Joseph is survived by his children, Pamela Jean Whitlock of Angleton, Doby Stewart and husband, Kenny of Alvin, Cindy Archie of Angleton, Evalee Duncombe & husband, Jeff of Friendswood, Tex Whitlock, Jr. and partner, John Neill of Rosharon and Tommy Whitlock and wife, Mary Catherine of Rosharon; grandchildren, Jana, Bobbye, David, John Paul, Dakota, Tray, Blake, Brooke, Lydia, Ashley, Cassidy and Haylie; great grandchildren, Harrison, Blaine, Josh, Bree, Payton, Sailor, Payne, Jay, Brant, Braylee, Haylee, Aiden & Taylor. Visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at Palms Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel.
