It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Josephine "Jo or Josie", whose warmth, kindness, and infectious joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Born and raised in Texas, Josie’s adventurous spirit led her on a career path in magazine sales, traveling across the U.S. before settling into a fulfilling position with Southwestern Bell (now AT&T). Her love story with her high school sweetheart, rekindled years later, was a testament to the enduring power of love. Together, they built a beautiful life in Freeport, Texas, where they shared laughter, love, and dreams with their family.
A proud mother and grandmother, Josie cherished her family above all else. Her sons were her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself to raising them with love and care. She also found immense happiness in her grandchildren and was famously crowned the "UNO Champion" in spirited family games. A lover of fashion, Josie had an impeccable eye for bargains, and her passion for denim, jewelry, and shoes made shopping an adventure she embraced with enthusiasm. Josie also had a deep love for her dogs, treating them with the same affection she gave her family.
Josie’s faith was central to her life, and she was an active, devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Freeport, where she was baptized in 2008. Her legacy of love, faith, kindness, and laughter, will live on in her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Josie’s radiant smile and warm spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will endure, forever lighting the lives of those who loved her. Rest in peace, Josie—your love, kindness, and beautiful smile will never be forgotten.
