Juan Manuel Rivera, Jr. went to the Lord in the early morning of Saturday, August 8th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his son Alex, his sisters Stella, Rosa and brother Matthew. Juan was born on May 21, 1952 to Aurora Gutierrez and Juan Manuel Rivera, Sr. Manuel as he was often called served in the Army branch of the United States Military where he served his beloved country in Vietnam. Upon leaving the service he acquired his ranking of Ammunition Specialist on the Cobra Attack Helicopters. Juan was a passionate football enthusiast especially for Americas Team, The Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family having weekend barbecues. He is survived by his wife Denise Rivera of Angleton, his children Maria Esquivel Arteaga, of Hempstead, Texas, Misty Garcia of Brazoria, Texas, Yvonne Valdez, Christina Banda, Sylvia Rivera, Juan Rivera, Jerry Rivera all of Angleton, Texas and john Paul Rivera. Three sisters Pattie, Mary, Margaret, and two brothers Jose and Eloy, he had forty five Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren with one on the way numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.. Juan Manuel Rivera passed away at Cypress Wood Nursing Home where he heroically lost "The Good Fight" to the world pandemic of COVID-19. He was sixty-eight years old. Service Details.
