Judy Ann Wiley, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and avid reader, passed away on January 29, 2024. She was born in Ames, Iowa on February 6, 1950, to her parents Leo Thomas and Velda Kunz.
Judy shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Gregory Arnold Wiley, whom she married on September 28, 1974 in Steger, Illinois. Together, they cherished many wonderful years of marriage and created a beautiful family.
As a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Judy found solace and strength in her faith. She actively participated in various church activities and at the Knights of Columbus social events, accompanying her husband, Greg, who is a dedicated 4th Degree Member. A passionate reader, Judy found solace and inspiration within the worlds of literature. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, where she found camaraderie and delightful conversation.
Judy’s joy knew no bounds when she embraced the roles of mother and caregiver. She treasured her children Raymond Wiley, Beki Wiley, Shawn Wiley, Tabitha Wiley and Tammi Wiley and poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them throughout their lives. Judy was also a proud sister to her brothers, Joe Kunz (Marilyn) and Jim Kunz.
Judy’s joyful presence and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. She is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Arnold Wiley, her children, Raymond Wiley, Beki Wiley, and Tammi Wiley Wickson (Rick), her brothers-in-law, Chuck Wiley (Susan) and Terry Wiley (Rosie), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Velda Kunz, her in-laws, Lynn and Dorothy Wiley, and her children, Shawn and Tabitha Wiley.
To honor and celebrate Judy's life, a Mass will be held at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 am. A Rosary will be recited at Palms Funeral Home on Monday night, February 5, 2024, at 6:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the Palms Funeral Home on the same day, starting at 5:00 pm.
In accordance with Judy's wishes, her remains will be cremated following the funeral services.
May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace, and may her family find solace and comfort in the cherished memories they shared with her.
