Kathryn Agnes Purdom Kathryn Agnes Purdom, 92, of Angleton, Texas passed away peacefully August 16, 2017. Kathryn was born January 2, 1925 to John Robert and Harriette Margaret Studer in Uvalde, Texas. While growing up, Kathryn enjoyed swimming, camping and fishing with her family on the rivers near Uvalde. She graduated from Uvalde High and married her high school sweetheart, James David (Jim) Purdom shortly after Jim returned from his service in WW11. They moved to Oklahoma City for a short time and then to Angleton in 1951. Kathryn was a member of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church of Angleton and served the church as an Alter Guild member and as a member of The Daughters of the King. For many years Kathryn was also a member of the Brazoria County Extension Club where she made many friends. Kathryn was happiest surrounded by her children and their families and never missed a family celebration. She also had a love of art and was a lifelong painter. She enjoyed traveling, vacationing at the beach, gardening and swimming. She is survived by her sister, Marge Hagelstein and husband Dick, her children Jim Purdom and wife Linda, Kit Davis and husband Bill, Kurt Purdom and wife Melisa. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jay and Michelle Purdom, Joel and Marie Purdom, Julie and Wade Mangham, Ross and Melissa Davis, Lauren and Matt Wetrich, Kate Purdom, Erin Purdom as well as 10 great grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her sister Dorothy Lee Watson, her brother Rodney Studer, and great grandson Declan Andrew Davis. A visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Monday, August 21 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 22, at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Angleton. Pallbearers will be Jay Purdom, Joel Purdom, Ross Davis, Wade Mangham, Brady Purdom, and Michael Purdom. The family wishes to thank April Cavazos for her devotion and loving care, Tuscany Village Skilled Nursing and Vantage Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice. Services lovingly fulfilled by the dedicated staff at Palms Funeral Home located at 2300 East Mulberry Angleton, Texas 77515.
