Kathryn Maxey Barcak

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kathryn (Kay) Maxey Barcak, who left us peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 24, 1939, in Ranger, Texas located in Eastland County, Kathryn lived a wonderful life dedicated to her family and her work in the media industry as an Office Manager at the Angleton Times.

Kathryn will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Jeanette Snyder (husband, Mark) and Kathy Hines. She was a cherished grandmother to Kristin Canales and Morgan (Spencer) Pullen. Proud great-grandmother to Madison and Jaxon Canales, Mikah Pahmiyer, Kamden Brzozowski, Kenley and Cameron Pullen. Her kindness, warmth, and strength impacted the lives of many, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Barcak, and her parents: Ernest and Margaret Maxey.

Service will take place at Second Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Friends and family are invited to visit for a time of remembrance and support on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Palms Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Angleton Cemetery following Kathryn's service.

Pallbearers will be Gary Garland, David Kelley, David Pouson, Leon Parson, Bob James & Butch Copeland.

Kathryn's legacy will live on through her family and the countless memories they shared.
