Kenneth Lowe, 85, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on March 8, 2014 at his home in Lake Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 6:30 pm at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Kenneth was born on December 19, 1928 in Rubottom, OK to Jodie L. and Susie Bernice Embry Lowe. He entered the Air Force on December 11, 1953 as an enlisted man but worked up the ladder to the rank of Lt. Col. and was honorably discharged on March 31, 1973 after 21 years of service to his country. During his service, Kenneth saw the world as he was stationed at different military bases and piloted aircraft around the world. This fueled his love of travel, and he was still going on vacation seeing the U.S. and the world. He returned to the Brazosport area in 1974 where he returned to work for Bo Wilson at Brazosport M&E until he retired. He fulfilled a life-long ambition when they moved to Nacogdoches and became the proud owner of a house on the 18th fairway of the Woodland Hills Golf Course. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Jodie L. Lowe; step-mother, Irene Lowe; mother, Susie Bennett; step-father, Troy Bennett; and brothers, O.J. and Don Lowe. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia M. Lowe; daughters, Patricia Hopkins and husband, James; Mary Susan Breaux and husband, Jerald; granddaughters, Dawn Etheridge and husband, Jeff; Brittany Carder and husband, Joseph; grandson, Jared Hopkins and wife, Katie; great-granddaughters, Shelby Etheridge, Mallory Etheridge, Addison Hopkins, Emilee Carder, Avrey Carder; great-grandson, Marshall Hopkins; brother, Wimpy Lowe and wife Betty Ann; brother-in-law, Abe Conner and wife Jimmie Lou; sisters-in-law, Xavier Gifford, Beverly Gifford, Betsy Schnell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
