Robert Larry Thomas of Angleton passed away on October 3, 2023, at the age of 79. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.

Larry was born on October 24, 1943, in Gainesville, Texas to parents Robert (Sunny) Thomas Jr. and Marie (Godwin) Thomas. He grew up in Clute and later in life made Angleton his home. Larry was a Christian and served as a deacon of Brazosport Baptist Church in early years. Throughout his life, Larry was known by many names and had many skills, he really was a "Jack of all Trades". He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police, then ventured into several careers from owning his own security business to being a local city councilman. He didn't stop there; he was also a Police Officer for the Angleton Police Department then moved on to Detective for several years. Larry's later careers included managing a bail bond business and driving a car hauler truck. He also had a love for gardening, cooking and baking.

He is survived by his sons Chris Walthall (Janie), Rodney Thomas (Anneliese) and daughter Tammy HIpp (Dale). PawPaw is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Adam Walthall (Rachael), Travis Walthall (Kalli), Robert Thomas, Rachel Cole (Michael), Colby Hipp (Megan), Karlie Hipp, Dustin Hipp (Hailey) and his precious great-grandchildren Weston Walthall, Robin Walthall, Alice Walthall, Carter Cole, Addison Hipp, Ryann Hipp, and Oaklynn Hipp. He is survived by his sister Janice Hudson and brother Michael Thomas (Beverly) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Robert (Sunny) Thomas Jr. and Marie (Godwin) Thomas, brother Floyd Walling, grandson Cody Hipp, brother-in-law Benjamin (Ben) Hudson and nephew Benjamin Hudson.
