Larry Garza Ortiz, 68, of Angleton, passed away on February 3, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Hortencia Ortiz, sister Maricela Mares and brother Carlos Ortiz. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Diana Trevino; sons, Gabriel Ortiz and wife, Melinda, Larry Ortiz Jr. and wife, Kissi; daughters Elissia Ortiz, Tammy Garcia, and Angela Martinez; nineteen (19) grandchildren; thirteen (13) great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Larry was born in San Juan, Texas, on July 18, 1953. He moved to Brazoria County at an early age and would establish himself as a member of the community for nearly 60 years before his passing. Larry obtained his certification as a welder after enrolling in Job Corps shortly after high school. He would be recognized by industry contractors for over 30 years as a subject matter expert in the field of welding. Larry was kindhearted and many enjoyed his outgoing personality. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years to include martial arts, archery, camping, and loved riding his Harley. There was nothing Larry loved more than his family, spending time with them any chance he could, especially with his grandchildren. His legacy will continue, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Destiny Church, 211 S Lazy Lane, Clute TX 77531. No funeral service is scheduled. Family and friends are welcome to attend a reception immediately following at the Lake Jackson Civic Center with dinner being served from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
