Larry Ray 'Red' Helton Jr.

Larry Ray Helton Jr. (Red) was born January 25, 1953 to Larry Ray Helton Sr. and Delores Joye Reese Helton. He passed away from this life on November 28, 2015 at the age of 62 to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by 3 daughters, Erin Helton (Angleton), Shawn Helton (Lake ackson) and Jennifer Masiero (Bart) (Granbury, Tx), one sister Peggy Creekmore (Jim) (Brazoria),niece Trina Poland (Kevin)(Sweeny), nephew Brent Helton (Oklahoma) niece Donna Hurta (Chris) (Angleton), 5 grandchildren Joel, Anneliese, Claire, Isabel, and Montwin. In the closing moments of my dad's life here on earth I will remember most the last few moments of time spent at his bedside and the most unlikely prayer he voiced to God. With limited abilities from birth and throughout his lifetime, dad didn't let this stop him from loving and living his life. He was a man strongly devoted to God, our family, our Christian family and his job. Dad had so many great things about him unmentioned. In the last several months of his life, dad's health declined rapidly and he suffered greatly. On Thanksgiving Day, as I stood beside his bed, my dad led us in prayer and asked God to teach him how to love. By this I learned humility and love are most important. He left his body and went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning on November 28th. He believed to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Dad, you will be truly missed. We all love you! Memorial Services will be held at Northway Baptist Church, 10:30am Saturday, December 12.
