Lawrence Woodrow "Larry" Ferguson, 74 of Sweeny passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in his home with his family by his side. He was born to Woodrow and Nellie Ferguson in Halcyondale, Georgia on December 21, 1945. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 20202 in Palms Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He took tremendous pride in providing and caring for his family. His family came first. He loved to fish. Whenever he could, they would pack up the RV and head to Sargent and fish all weekend. He also loved the Casino's, he was always trying to get someone to go "Ching, Ching." Larry's coworkers were also considered family, he would have barbeques and fishing tournaments to bring them closer together. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Henry and Irvin, sister Pauline, daughter-in-law Spring Ferguson and nephew Dougie Moreland. Larry is survived by his wife of 52yrs Pat Ferguson, brother Benny Joe Ferguson, Sons; Robert Ferguson & wife Gina of Angleton, Doug Ferguson & wife Kim of Sweeny, Larry O. Ferguson & wife Pearl of Killeen, and Brian Ferguson of Sweeny, 15 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren as well as numerous other family and friends.
