Lee Bradley Beasley

August 29, 1951 — December 26, 2013

Lee Bradley Beasley, age 62, passed away Thursday, the 26 of December at his home in Angleton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brad and Eunice Beasley of Oyster Creek. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gomez Beasley; and special granddaughter, Sunshine Rogers; two children, son, Bradley Beasley, and daughter, Brandi Beasley; one sister, Geraldine White and husband, Dean, of Brazoria; three brothers, Dr. Kennith Beasley, of Buffalo, Jack Beasley and wife, Liz, of Houston, Charlie Beasley and wife, Gina of Angleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was born in Freeport, Texas on August 29, 1951, and grew up in Oyster Creek. He attended Freeport Jr. High and Brazosport High School. While in the Army, he served a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart along with other medals and commendations for valor. Lee's world mostly revolved around being a Rodeo Cowboy. He was most happy when he was going to or at a rodeo. His college rodeo days included winning the NIRA Southern Region All-Around Cowboy, and Saddle Bronc Riding Championship and representing Brazosport College at the College Rodeo National Finals in Bozeman, Montana in 1976. This is a "Road Trip" he shared with his life-long friend Jim Crainer of Jones Creek, who was representing SHSU in the Bareback riding at the College Finals that same year. Lee was also named State Champion Saddle Bronc Rider in 1973 by the Texas Rodeo Association (TRA). Lee's health had been declining over the past few years and he had to spend several extended stays in the VA hospital. He loved for his friends to come by and visit him, after he could no longer get around. The family appreciates the friends that continued to stay in touch with Lee. We are so thankful for you and the joy you brought to Lee. Memorial Services will be held at the Victory Fellowship Cowboy Church at 208 Lazy Lane in Brazoria, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014.
