Leo Paul Fief Leo Paul Fief began his eternal life journey with his Heavenly Father and Family on Thursday, May 1st, 2014 in Sugarland, Tx. Leo was born on Dec 9, 1929 in Danbury, Tx to Meddie Phillip Fief & Hermina Josephine Bonneau Fief. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister Lucille Dannhaus. Leo attended and graduated from Danbury High School where he enjoyed participating in sports. After graduation he worked for a short time for Freeport Sulphur Company before being drafted into the U.S. Armed Forces, where he served his country for 2 years as a radar operator. In 1952 he met the love of his life Fostine (Tennie) Harvey. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on February 27, 1954 at St. John's Catholic Church in Alvin, Tx. Leo resided and raised his family in Danbury until his death. Once he was discharged from the Army he went back to work for Freeport Sulphur Co. and then went to work for Dow Chemical for a short time. Leo attended barber school in Houston obtaining his barber license and began his career as a life long barber. Many of Danbury's youngsters received their 1st hair cut from Leo or as many referred to him as Uncle Leo or Papaw. In 1971 he and Tennie purchased and operated a grocery store and meat market know as one of Danbury's land marks "Leo's Grocery" until 2008 after Hurricane Ike caused it extensive damage. Leo's most important journey in life was his walk and relationship with his Heavenly Father our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a devout Catholic Christian who was totally dedicated to his faith and Heavenly Father. Leo was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He showed his faith, not by many words, but in his daily actions and dedication to his Lord and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Leo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Fostine (Tennie) Harvey Fief. Children and their spouses. Jennifer and Dan Dubois, Leo "Paul" Fief, Jr and Gwen, Karen Knighton and Raymond, Frederick Fief, Kim and Michael McCormick. Grandchildren, Derek and Jennifer Levee, Brett and A.J. Levee and Blake Levee. Amber and Roger Kroschel, Brice and Mary Ann Fief and Cole Fief. Cody Knighton, Travis & Brandi Knighton, Mason and Zachary McCormick, Danie J. Dubois, II and Heather, Kristi M. Dubois Byrd and Jeremiah. Great Grandchilden, Jessica, Lauren, Luke, Camrym and Grayson Levee, Abbey, Max and Case Kroschel, Tenley Knighton, Amber, Lindsay & Elijah Dubois, Hannah and Jacob Byrd, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Derek, Brett and Blake Levee, Brice and Cole Fief, Cody and Travis Knighton, Mason and Zachary McCormick. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Christian Wake & Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 also at St. Anthony's.
