Leon Calderon

Leon Calderon, age 91, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2021. A long time resident of Angleton, Leon worked as a carpenter by trade and was a licensed Master Plumber for over 50 years. He built houses and did plumbing all over Angleton and Brazoria County. He loved the Houston Astros and was an avid fan of baseball having played 3rd base for the Angleton Indians amateur baseball team. Leon was born in Citrus Grove, Texas on April 11, 1930 to Albert and Elvira Calderon. He was married to Anna Maria de Jesus Calderon on August 17, 1948 and together they have seven children: Mario Calderon (Teresa) and their children Shana Frank, Crystal Calderon-Miller and Terri Guzman; Hortencia Yglesias (Robert) and their children Annjeanette and Victor Yglesias; Gracie Garcia, Carlos Calderon and his children Blanca Deajon, Demeka Garica and Joselyn Fly; Geronimo Calderon (Janet) and his daughter Catalina Drouillard; Diana Calderon-Salazar (Ramiro) and their daughter Alyssa; John Calderon (Leticia) and 19 great-grandchildren: Victoria, Daniel, Mario, Joseph, Caitlyn, Yliana, Albertano, Ryder, Sullivan, Perry, Jeremiah, Joseph, Jeremiah, Christopher, Jaden, Jordan, Josh, Alice and Dahlia. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elivra Calderon, brothers Donato and Frank Calderon, and sisters Juanita Maldonado and Marina Mata. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30pm. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mario Calderon, Carlos Calderon, Geronimo Calderon, John Calderon, Cesar Calderon, Albert Calderon and Herminio Calderon are honored to be serving as Leon's pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Noe Calderon, Marcos Calderon, Frank Calderon, Ernesto Mata and Geraldo Maldonado.
