Leslie Theodore 'Les' Bevel

Les Bevel 72 of Angleton went to be with the Lord January 12, 2013 surrounded by family. He was born May 14, 1940 in Knox City Texas to Horace and Ethel Tidwell Bevel. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Shad Bevel. He is survived by his little buddies: Benny, Zack and Marlie, wife Connie Bevel of Angleton, daughter Jenny Phillips Martinez (Michael) of Angleton, granddaughters Kristina Harris and friend Eric of Arlington Texas and Meagan Carroll of Angleton, Mother in Law Patricia Carlton of Angleton, Sister in Law Carol Ortiz (Joe) of Angleton, nieces Lauren, Kaylynn and Abbie Ortiz all of Angleton, brother Kenneth Bevel (Billy) of Ralls Texas, nephews Monte Bevel (Terri) of Lubbock Texas, John Bevel (Barbara) of Loomas CA, Barry Bevel of Lubbock and special friend Kathy Bevel of Angleton. Les graduated from Littlefield High School in 1958 where he was an All American Football player, he earned an Associates Degree from Hardin Simmons. He was in the United States Army from 1962-1965, graduated from the Department of Public Safety in 1966, Chief of Police of Clute Texas from 1970-1971, Border Patrol academy 1971 and he owned and operated Bevel Investigation and Bevel Process from 1983 to present. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends. Viewing will be Monday January 14, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas and the services will be Tuesday January 15, 2013 at 10 am at Palms Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Angleton Cemetery.
