Libby Annie Jez

Libby Annie Jez, 99, of Angleton, affectionately known as Granny by many, passed away on January 31, 2022 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston, Texas, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20th, 1922 in Needville, Texas to Louis and Emilie Uherek Lubojacky. Services will be held Saturday, February 5th, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Danbury. Visitation will begin at 9:30 with a Rosary recited at 10:00. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:30. Burial will be in the Angleton Cemetery. She was one of seven children and was raised on a farm in Iowa Colony. The farm is now part of the property that the new Iowa Colony High School is located on. In 1942, she married Henry Jez and they resided in Angleton their entire lives. She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard, gardening and canning. She was a kind and gentle person. Her unconditional love and the way she handled obstacles in her life were an inspiration. Taking care of her family was one of her greatest joys. She loved cooking, baking and sewing for them. She enjoyed making kolaches with her grandchildren, passing on her heritage. You could not go over to her house without having something to eat. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 38 years. Also, preceding her in death are her brothers, Raymond Lubojacky, her twin brother Edward Lubojacky and brother August Lubojacky. Her sisters, Elsie Kadera, Lillie Krampota and Edna Kundel. Also, preceding her in death are 2 nieces and 5 nephews. She is survived by her sons; Henry Jez, Jr., of Pasadena, Alfred (AJ) and wife Cheryl, of Sweeny, Robert and wife Imelda, of Danbury; daughter, Janie Light and husband John, of Alvin, 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Lubojacky and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend gratitude to Country Village Care in Angleton for the excellent care she received while she was a resident there and UTMB Galveston for their comforting care in her final days. The family would also like to thank Barbara Mager for her kindness, friendship and her many visits to our mother for the past few years. Service Details.
