Lillian Charlene Martin

Lillian Sohrt Martin, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2018, in her home in Angleton, TX following a hard fought battle with cancer. She was surround by her loving husband of 49 years, Harry Martin, and her three sons. Lillian was born January 25, 1947, in Wharton, TX to Edward and Mary Bilek Sohrt. She graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College and dedicated 49 years of her life to teaching and educating children. She taught until retirement, and then kept on teaching. Lillian is survived by her husband, Harry Gene "Fuzzy" Martin, three sons and four amazing grandkids: Logan and Luca born to Michael and Kristen Martin, Heath born to Charles and Kelly Martin, and Travis born to Darrell and Alyson Martin. She is survived by her sisters, Edith Sohrt Molberg & DeeAnn Sohrt Bacak and her brother Eddie Sohrt. Also, a very special thank you goes to her dear friends Leah McCreary, Billie Carr, Pam Frank & Bartlett Ramsey, as well as numerous other family and friends for their infinite love and support. A public visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 5-7:00PM at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. A Funeral Service will be held at Palms Funeral Home at 11:00AM on Sunday, November 4th followed by a light lunch and coffee. We will be departing Palms Funeral Home at 1:00PM for a burial to be held in New Taiton, TX beginning at 3:00PM at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery. Lillian loved life, family and friends with her whole heart. She also loved and cherished all of her ‘kids' she taught over the years.
