Lina Vela Ramirez, 63, of Angleton passed away peacefully in her home on November 6, 2018 after a long, hard battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 40 years, Arnold Ramirez, and her four children. Lina was born October 17, 1955 in Freer, TX. She devoted her life to passionately serving others and educating the youth. Having helped hundreds of families and children in Brazoria County, Lina retired as a school teacher and counselor from Angleton ISD after 20 years of service. She was also a past Director of Religious Education at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Above all, her favorite roles were serving as a loving wife and mother to her family. Lina was preceded in death by her father, Adolfo Vela, Sr. and brother Adolfo Vela, Jr. She is survived by her husband Arnold Ramirez of Angleton, mother, Eudelia Vela of Freer, mother in-law Rosie Ramirez of Alice, sons, Arnold Ramirez Jr. of Houston, Gabriel Ramirez of Houston, Javier Ramirez of Austin, daughter, Christina Ramirez of Angleton, and sister Edna Cantu (Arnold) of Freer; including numerous nieces, nephews, and God-children. Visitation will be held from 5-7p.m. Thursday, November 8 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Cantu, Jaime Cantu, Tyrone Addison, Donald De La Fuente, Tony Cortez, Matthew Suniga, and Adrian Sanchez. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church's future Capital Campaign for Youth Facilities at https://www.osvonlinegiving.com/397.
