Linda Gayle Purdom

Many people lost their best friend when Linda Gayle "Mimi" Hargrove Purdom passed away on January 26, 2022. She was born in Crockett, Texas on August 5, 1947. Linda grew up in the Methodist church in Angleton, TX and graduated from Angleton High School. She and Jim Purdom married in 1965. Linda worked in Angleton ISD for many years. She and Jim moved to Pearland, TX and later founded Best Insurance with their sons. Linda is proceeded in death by James T. "Buddy" and Myrtle "Granny" Hargrove and sister Jimmie Lynn "Binky" Hargrove. She is survived by husband Jim Purdom, sister Reba Johns; children Jay Purdom and wife Michelle, Joel Purdom and wife Marie, and Julie Mangham and husband Wade; grandchildren Brady Purdom, Mia Purdom, Halle Purdom, Sydney Purdom, Michael Purdom, Maci Mangham, Justin Purdom, and McKenna Mangham. Linda, known by most as Mimi, cherished every day of her life, especially those that included her children, grandchildren, and their friends. Mimi valued traditions she started with her grandchildren including: gingerbread houses at Christmas, making chocolate covered cherries at Valentine's Day for each grandchild's teacher, and dying eggs and baking bunny cakes at Easter. She and Jim loved to travel and went all over the world. Mimi especially loved to snow ski in various parts of the country. She was an avid gardener, as is evident in her beautiful yard. Mimi was a problem solver who was endlessly optimistic and would do anything for anyone. She will live in our hearts forever.
