Darlene was born on February 12, 1953 in Angleton, Texas to Donald Joe Bulanek and Clara Pearl Bulanek. Darlene was a graduate of Danbury High School in 1971. She met the love of her life and husband Tony as classmates in Danbury and they were married on February 19, 1972. After marriage, Tony and Darlene made their home in Danbury where they raised their three children.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Mammy), sister, aunt, and dear friend. She enjoyed going to the deer lease and watching deer, optimizing the chicken and turkey feed recipes for her kids and grandson’s 4-H events. She loved to fish from their boat in Bastrop Bayou. Darlene had a great love for nature (bird watching) and for her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed going swimming at Angleton Recreation Center. She loved to spend time with her family and their precious chihuahua Keela. But above all was the love she had for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a great woman of faith and lived her life through Jesus everyday here on earth.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 52+ years, Tony Kern of Danbury; children, Tamara Brennan and husband Greg of Angleton, Tony Kern Jr. of League City, Trenda Kern of Danbury, and grandson, Kyler Kern of League City; brother Donald Joe Bulanek Jr. and wife Sharon of Danbury, brother Pat Bulanek and wife Vanessa of Angleton, sister Judy Kay and husband Randy of Danbury, brother Nelson Bulanek of Danbury, brother-in-law David Kern of Danbury; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Joe Bulanek and Clara Pearl Bulanek.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Danbury Baptist Church.
