Funeral services for Lola Jane Hoskins Willy age 95, a life-long resident of Brazoria County will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 28, 2015 at 1st Presbyterian Church of Angleton with Rev Mike O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Phair Cemetery at Stratton Ridge, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 at Palms Funeral Home. Lola was born September 14, 1920 in Danbury, Texas to W.A. (Bill) Hoskins and Inez Govier Hoskins at the home of her grandparents, George and Martha Govier. Lola grew up on the Hoskins Ranch and was proud of the certificate and plaque received by the family from the Texas Dept. of Agriculture for the ranch which was established in 1853 and for being in the same family for over 100 years. Lola loved to ranch and knew each cow and its name. She passed the love of ranching on to her children. Lola attended school in Angleton, Texas and attended college at Denton, Texas. In 1939 Lola married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Montgomery Willy. They were married 73 years and had four children. Lola was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Angleton, Texas. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy. One of Lola's favorite past times was to cook Sunday dinner for all her family and everyone, family or not, were invited. It was not unusual to have 20 or more at the table on Sunday. Her talent was cooking great meals. She is preceded in death by her parents, W.A. ( Bill) Hoskins and Inez Govier Hoskins, her husband of 73 years, Richard (Dick) Willy and her sister, Wilma Inez Hoskins and her brother W.A. (Billy) Hoskins. Lola is survived by her children Richard M. Willy & John Willy and wife Beth both of Angleton, Judith Bielstein and husband Tom & Jeffery D. Willy both of Freeport. Grandchildren; Monte Willy, Dan Willy, Jonathon Willy, Elizabeth Willy, Richard Allen Rhodes, Amy Willy and 6 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dan Willy, Monte Willy, Richard Rhodes, Bryan Hoskins, Jon Willy & Dana Ingram.
