Louis Vrazel was born July 22, 1947, in Angleton, Texas to Donat and Marie Pavlicek Vrazel. He entered eternal life on November 12, 2021, peacefully at his home in Danbury, Texas at the age of 74 after a courageous two and a half year battle with ALS "Lou Gehrig's Disease." Louis was a 1966 graduate of Danbury High School. He married the love of his life, Pat Heiman on November 19, 1966. This year they would have celebrated 55 years of blissful marriage. Louis retired from Monsanto/Solutia after 33 years of dedicated service. He was known as an awesome employee according to praises that were expressed to Pat by his plant manager. Pat was proud of the husband, father, and great leader he was for their family. They led the Christian life God expected of them and raised their children also to love and serve the Lord. Louis enjoyed his family immensely and loved living the country life. But one of his greatest joys was serving the Lord. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church for his entire life. He and Pat served as Eucharistic Ministers for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped keep the church grounds for numerous years. He loved attending church picnics throughout Texas - especially the ones featuring Polka bands. When his children were young, he enjoyed coaching his three boys in Little League baseball. He and Pat were 4-H leaders and volunteered on the Brazoria County Fair Turkey Committee for over 35 years. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participating at the livestock shows with their animals. After Louis retired, he and Pat immensely enjoyed Polka music and dancing. His love for Polka music began at an early age, as his parents owned Vrazel Ballroom in Danbury. Louis and his siblings all joined in operating the family business. Louis and Pat are members of Polka Klub of America - Texas chapter and enjoyed many Polka dances, festivals, and cruises. You may have seen them on RFD-TV gracing the dance floor of the Mollie B Polka Party and the Big Joe Polka Show. They were even seen dancing in the Clint Eastwood movie The Mule with Mollie B and SqueezeBox. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Bennie and Jeannie Heiman, brothers Joe and Edwin Vrazel, and brother in-law Lanny Heiman. He is survived by his wife Pat Vrazel; children Jarrod Vrazel, Jason Vrazel and wife Tracy, Brent Vrazel and wife Leighane, Lisa Mitchell and husband Brett; grandchildren Kylie and Kaitlyn Trant, Grant and Lauren Vrazel, Elizabeth, Colton, and Carson Vrazel; brothers Florin and Paul Vrazel; and sisters, Sister Anna Marie Vrazel, Martha Schaatt, Lillie Svec, Theresa Jones, and Margaret Bargas. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Special thanks to Carly Lowman and Brenda Johnson with A*MED Home Health and all who helped our family with their loving care. Special thanks to Mollie B, Ted Lange and SqueezeBox, and Alfred and Bernice Vrazel of Vrazels' Polka Band for the special in-home Polka music performances that brought Louis so much joy in his final days.
