Mae Evous Kimberly Bowman November 13, 1922 - April 27, 2013 Mae Evous Kimberly Bowman, 90, of Angleton finished her earthly journey and went to join her savior and family in heaven on April 27 2013. Mae Evous Kimberly was born in Hackleburg, Alabama on November 13, 1922 to Hughlun Millard Kimberly and Eula Mae Maddox Kimberly. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She was an exceptionally gentle person of many talents who loved The Lord. She met her future husband Kenneth B. Bowman while he was stationed where she worked at Camp Sibert Army base in her home town, Gadsden Alabama at the close of WWII. They were married on September 27, 1945 and moved to Alvin to operate the store that Kenneth opened with family members in 1938. Mae and Kenneth moved from Alvin to Angleton when they opened the Angleton store in 1951. She and Kenneth owned and operated Bowman's Department Stores in Angleton and Brazoria until they retired in 1980 and their son Kenneth Bowman Jr. took over operation of the business. She was preceded by her husband Kenneth B. Bowman, her parents, and an infant brother James Kimberly, brother Richard Kimberly, sister Rae Machen and brother-in-law Ralph Machen, brother-in-law Cecil Bowman, brother-in-law Calvin Bowman, sister-in-law Ruth Bowman, father-in-Law and mother-in-law Harry and Florence Bowman. She is survived by her children Kenneth B. Bowman Jr. and Cynthia Bowman Feltham (John), grand children Jennifer Bowman Whorton, (Michael) and Kristen Bowman Martin (Michael), great grand children Emily Whorton, Sarah Whorton, Logan Martin, and Luca Martin. She is also survived by her twin sisters Billie Bowman and Betty Reed (Norby), sister Patsy Waldrip (Marvin), sister-in-law Sarah Kimberley, sister-in-law Kathryn Parks (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30pm Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Angleton with service to follow visitation at 1:30pm.
