Margaret Miksovsky

Margaret Bertha Engelking Miksovsky of Angleton passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 following a prolonged illness. She was born on March 6, 1920 in Peters, Texas to Julius Christian and Isabella Brosig Engelking. Margaret graduated from Sealy High School and attended Baylor University. She married Francis George Miksovsky on October 15, 1939 in a ceremony conducted by Francis' father, The Reverend Joseph Miksovsky. Margaret worked in Denver, Colorado while Francis was in the service and moved to Angleton after the war in 1947. During her life in Angleton, Margaret raised three children and was involved with her church and community. Margaret and Francis joined the First Presbyterian Church in 1948 and she participated in church Circle meetings. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Angleton Study Club. She enjoyed her ladies' bridge club, her sewing circle and the Lions Club ladies' outings. She was honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas Distinction from the Governor of Texas on her fiftieth wedding anniversary. Her favorite pastime was sewing for her family with her beautiful sewing skills. She loved working in her flower beds and often had her flowers displayed in their home. Margaret and Francis enjoyed watching their children, and later their grandchildren, playing sports and attended as many of those activities as they could. Margaret is pre-deceased by her husband of 71 years, Francis George Miksovsky. She is survived by two brothers, Julius Christian (Tom)Engelking and his wife, Mary of Beaumont, Texas and Frederick James (Fritz) Engelking and his wife Janice of Cat Spring, Texas; her children, Peggy Ann Adams and husband, Kerry of Friendswood , Texas, David Francis Miksovsky and his wife, Nan of Sugar Land, Texas and Patricia Sue Collier of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Keli Dawn Williams and her husband, Eric of Pearland, Texas, Kyle Dean Adams and his wife, Holly of Pearland, Texas, Corissa Dawn DaSilva and her husband, Jon of Austin, Texas, Clifton Dale Collier and his wife, Jennifer of Sugar Land, Texas, Celeste Diane Collier of Lubbock, Texas, Nathan David Miksovsky of Sugar Land, Texas and Scott Ambrose Miksovsky of Sugar Land, Texas; and six great grandchildren, Allison Katherine DaSilva, Peyton Grace DaSilva, London Aldric Williams, Kenley Alana Adams, Kade Dean Alan Adams and Lyla Grace Collier. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Angleton, Texas at 10 am on Monday, July 1, 2013. Visitation will be immediately preceding the service from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
