Margaret Allen Moore Bright of Jones Creek departed this earthly world July 24, 2017, after fighting a long, valiant battle with breast cancer. She was at home surrounded by her loved ones when our Heavenly Father called her home. Margaret was born to Haskell Allen Moore and Lucille Lynn Moore in Freeport, TX, January 6, 1944. She is survived by her loving family, including her devoted husband of 28 years, Larry A. Bright; her cherished daughters, Tracy Jones Turner and husband David; Jenna Jones Ford and husband Michael; son, Larry Ray Bright and wife Debbie; and Tina Bright. "Mama" is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Mason Stanford, Cierra and Chayse Turner; McKamey, Kantyn, Fallon and Bailey Ford; Tyler Bright, Kimberly Sohrt (E.J.), Natalie Dyess and Hunter Bright; and great grandchildren Kamrynn and Kayden. Also left to cherish Margaret's memory are her brothers Terry Moore (Shelly), Jimmy Moore, Mark Moore (Sharon); sister-in-law Wanda Moore; and her sister-in-love (if not blood) Pris Jones, Linda Spates and her daughters Alisa and Regina and their families; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Glen "Shorty" Moore, sister-in-law Debbie Moore and her daughters' father James "Paul" Jones. After growing up outside Angleton and graduating from Angleton High School, Margaret joined Dow Chemical where she was a dedicated employee for more than 30 years. She was an active member of Jones Creek Baptist Church for more than 40 years where she taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery, served on the Hostess Committee as well as Assistant Treasurer - among other roles she served. After retiring from Dow in 1995, she began a second career at Chapelwood Preschool Ministries where Mason attended and continued her work there while McKamey and Kantyn later attended. Margaret retired from CPM in September 2016 when her health no longer allowed her body to continue, but her heart never left. Margaret touched many during her journey on this earth and will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, a dedicated daughter, a loyal sister, and as a trusted friend. But there is no doubt that she shined the brightest in her role as "Mama" to Mason, McKamey and Kantyn. Special acknowledgement and gratitude to her friend and caregiver Elaine Stover; the Jones Creek Baptist Church family; Candace Blumenthal and Maria Calderon of Encompass Home Health and Hospice; and all the others who were so helpful and supportive the last 10 months. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Margaret's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Jones Creek Baptist Church, led by Brothers Sidney Tenery and Brent Pittman (Hwy. 36 in Jones Creek, TX 77541). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
