Margaret Virginia Turner

December 13, 1929 — March 2, 2019

Margaret Virginia Hammonds Barker Turner, 89, of Angleton, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2019. Margaret "Granny" was born to Tom and Gertrude Hammonds on December 13, 1929. She married Henry Frank Barker and had three sons. After Frank's passing, she met and married Joe Turner and had her fourth son. Margaret was lovingly known by everyone, whether you were family or friend, as simply Granny. She was a successful and well known real estate broker and notary for the public and never met a stranger. Granny loved people. The coffee pot was always brewing for anyone that stopped by to see her and if you stopped by on Thursday, it was Donut Day. She also had a sense of humor. As glaucoma began taking her eyesight and she could no longer drive, she'd say that she was looking for a man with only two requirements. He just had to have two good eyes and a drivers license. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Gertrude Hammonds, her first husband Henry Frank Barker, her second husband Joe Turner, II, son Dennis Barker and sister Effie Sonnen. She is survived by Son Ronnie Barker (Kelly) of Hunt, TX, Son Jerry Barker (Mary) of Angleton, TX, and Son Joe Turner (Lydia) of Angleton, TX: Sister Tommie Jo Slaughter (Johnye) of Angleton, TX, Brother, Buddy Hammonds (Billie Jean) of Lake Jackson, TX and Daughter-in-law Linda Barker of Angleton, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great grand children as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. The family would like to express special appreciation to her caregivers, Cynthia Hands and Shavonne Epps as well as Ann and Dianna with Amed Hospice for all the love, care and attention they gave to Granny and our family.
