Maria was well known for her love of God. She taught her children from infancy to always pray and read their Bible. Any time anyone was going through a difficult time, she always encouraged them to "pray, pray, pray". One of her favorite scriptures that she held dear to her heart and shared with everyone was Psalm 23, a Psalm of David. Her love of God and righteousness is a legacy she has passed down to her children, and grandchildren and will continue to grow in her family for all time. Maria loved taking trips to Mexico to visit family and friends. She would go as often as possible. She also loved to exercise and understood how important it was to exercise to stay healthy. No matter how tired she might be she would exercise knowing it would help her to get better. Maria Santos was also well known for her unconditional love. She would help anyone in need with no hesitation. She also loved plants and could grow anything from a seed. She had quite a green thumb. Maria loved all animals, but had a special affection for birds, cats, and dogs. It was her passion for her puppies that caused her to raise several litters by hand feeding them when it was necessary. Above all else, she loved her family! She enjoyed being with all of her grandchildren and all will miss her greatly. Her daughter Frances feels especially grateful. The sacrifices made by her parents in sending her to nursing school, were returned in great measure, recently, when she was able to give her mother the greatest care during her final days.
