Marilyn Jo Kennedy Hurt

Marilyn Joe Havlik-Kennedy-Hurt Oct. 19, 1954 - March 21, 2018 Marilyn Joe Havlik- Kennedy - Hurt 63, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed into heavenly bliss on March 21, 2018 at her home, with her loving husband and family at her bedside. She was born October 19, 1954 in Freeport. She was the only child of Joe and Ellie (Prihoda) Havlik. She graduated from Brazoswood High School, where she was a proud member of the Brazoswood Buccaneer marching band. After High school, Marilyn was accepted into Texas A&M University, where she majored in English. She was a proud member of the fighting Texas Aggie class of '77, and a huge lifelong fan of Aggie sports, and especially her Aggie football. With her first husband, Wayne Kennedy, she had two sons, Vincent Kennedy, and James Kennedy, whom she adored and cherished. On April 8, 2016 she married Kerry Hurt. They were happily married for almost two years, and he faithfully and lovingly took care of her until she passed away. They enjoyed watching sports together, traveling, and attending air shows. Marilyn was a devout Catholic woman, and she was a parishioner at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the KJZT. Marilyn had a very kind and caring heart. She always looked out for those who were in need, especially her children, her mother, and her younger nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation and rosary will be held Sunday evening March 25, 2018 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Damon, with Father David Zapalac officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Lars Bengtson, Jacob Dines, Shane Dines, Jason Hurt, Steven Miculek, Michael Prihoda, Kenneth Rab, Arnold Svoboda, and Stan Tyler. Marilyn is survived by her husband Kerry Hurt, her loving mother Ellie Havlik, her son Vincent Kennedy and Carolyn Cluster, her son James Kennedy and wife Jessie Kennedy, her uncle Frank Prihoda and numerous cousins, her uncle William Havlik, and her Havlik cousins Billy, Patsy, and Debbie. She is also survived by her special friends Cindy and Lars Bengtston, and Bess and Bob Farley. She is preceded in death by her father Joe Havlik.
