Marita Adamson Lewis

May 13, 1952 — April 27, 2024

Marita Adamson Lewis passed away Saturday, April 27. She was 71. Marita was born in Bay City, Texas on May 13,1952 to Irving and Marie Adamson. Soon they moved to Angleton where she was to spend the rest of her life. There she would become a big sister to 3 brothers. Bobby, Rick, and Randy.

In School she was very active in the Angleton Wildcat Marching Band. She was musically talented and mastered the piano at the age of 15. She played the saxophone and was a twirler for the high school band. After high school she joined the Angleton Police Department as a dispatcher. Later she moved to the courthouse and continued her role as dispatcher for the Brazoria Co. Sheriff’s office.

After several years she moved to Brazoria County Child Protection Services. That is where she fell in love with a baby girl named Jennah. Marita and her husband Jerry would adopt Jennah. We all appreciate her service in law enforcement throughout Brazoria County. Marita soon became very active in the United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She held many local officer positions at the OES as well as a state office, which she carried with pride all over the country. Marita retired from work to become full-time caretaker to her Father and Mother. Marita was loved so much by her family and all her friends at the church and Eastern Star.

Marita was preceded in death by her Father and Mother. Left to cherish the memories of her life is her husband Jerry, sons Richard and Darren Lewis, daughter Jennah and her husband Justin Hubenak, brothers Bobby and wife Lisa and their children Camryn and Cayden, Rick and wife Pam and their daughters Melissa and EllenMarie, niece Tonya Adamson Page and brother Randy and wife Selene and their daughter Angie.

In lieu of services the family asks you to reply with your thoughts and memories to Palms Funeral Home web page. For those who have already replied we appreciate it so very much.

RIP sweet Angel.
