Martha Catherine Wood August 6, 1932 ~ July 7, 2016 Martha Catherine Wood, 83, of Angleton, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1932 to Lobel & Bonnie (Barker) Hunt in Minden, Texas. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Palms Funeral Home located at 2300 East Mulberry Angleton, Texas with Pastor Thomas Lester officiating. Catherine & Bill moved to Angleton in December, 1953. She was a long-time employee at USDA - Farmer's Home Administration, where she served Brazoria and Galveston County farmers and ranchers and helped provide housing for many young families as well as senior citizens. She retired in 1992 after 30 years of faithful and honorable service. Following her retirement in 1992, Catherine and Bill enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, Catherine will be cremated and her ashes will be buried with her husband Bill's in the Hunt Cemetary in Henderson, Texas at a later date. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at Carriage Inn and IPH Home Health and Hospice Care. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Charlotte Ingersoll (husband, Bob) and Sherry Dolbear, her brother and sister; Perry Hunt and Joyce Sanderlin, and her grand-daughter, Brittani Dolbear. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Douglas Wood, and her two grandchildren; Gina and Chad Ingersoll.
