Mary Ann Carroll passed away December 17 in Sugar Land, Texas. Born on March 17, 1930 in El Dorado, Arkansas, Mary Ann moved with her husband to Angleton, Texas in 1956 and resided there until 2013 when she moved to The Hampton at the Meadows, an assisted living facility in Sugar Land. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Wilkins and Downing in Angleton and a former employee of Brockman's for many years. An avid reader, Mary Ann also loved animals and cared for too many to list. She was a kind and gentle person who lived to help others. Preceded in death by her mother and father Fanny Lou and Thad Cooper, her husband Jimmy Carroll, and brother, Thad Cooper, Jr., she leaves behind her only daughter, Linda Carroll, her beloved granddaughter and grandson, Leslie and Stuart Scott, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Jim Roberts, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all of the nurses and aides at the Hampton for their loving kindnesses and also to the employees of Altus Hospice. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Friends wishing to acknowledge her passing may donate to Jamie's Animal Rescue (www.jamiesrescue.org), the ASPCA, the Alzheimer's Association, or charity of their choice. Mimi, you have left an aching void in our hearts, but we know there is great rejoicing in Heaven and we will see you again.
