Mary Frances Hammons

June 10, 1936 — July 20, 2012

Mary Frances Hammons, 76, of Angleton has changed her address to Heaven after a lengthy illness surrounded by her family on Friday July 20, 2012. She was born on June 11, 1936 in Longview Texas to Jim and Marie Campbell. They owned and operated a caf in Corpus Christi, Texas where she met her future husband, Bobby Ray Hammons. They married in 1953 and were married 50 years. Together they had four children and later settled in Angleton in 1970. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and most of all the Lord. We will miss you dearly and will always hold on to the Christian values you instilled in us. We love you, "MawMaw". She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ray Hammons, her daughter Bobbie Fay Hammons and two brothers, Mont Campbell and Billy Ray Campbell. Survivors include sons, Richard Hammons and Phillip (Julie) Hammons of Angleton, daughter Janice (Eddie) Bell of Danbury, sisters, Lilly Hinkle of Angleton, JoAnn Franklin of Indiana and brother Buddy (Brigette) Campbell of Angleton and sisters-n-law Amaryllis Campbell of Angleton, Owana Hammons of Houston, and Jean Soileau of Louisiana. Grandchildren, Tia (Eric) Dye of Angleton, Chris Allen of Conroe, LeeAnn (Nicholas) Otto and David (Michelle) Bell of Danbury. Great Grandchildren, Cole, Darren, Madi Dye of Angleton, and Henry Otto and Hattie Bell of Danbury, and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be at Palms Funeral Home on Tuesday July 24, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family will honor her wishes for a private family graveside service in Angleton Cemetery at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 25, 2012 with her son Phillip Hammons officiating. A very special thank you to Bethany Home Healthcare, Misti, Susan and Jennifer and the great nurses at A-med Hospice. We will never forget the love and care you gave our mom and "MawMaw".
