Mary Jane Crouch

March 26, 1938 — July 21, 2015

On Tuesday, July 21, 2015 Mary Jane (Batson) Crouch met Nathan Crouch on the far side of Jordan and hand in hand, they went to see Jesus. Nathan had made her this promise is 1997 that he would be waiting. Also meeting her were her parents Glenn and Mittie Etheridge Batson and brother, Nelson Batson. Left to celebrate her life and cherish the many memories are her sons, Gerald and Fianc Tricia of Alvin; Stewart and wife Robin of Angleton. Grandchildren, Wendi and husband Darrell Lyons of Rosharon, Jill and husband Matt Short of Plano, Clayton and wife Whittney Crouch of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Trenton Crouch and wife Kati of Fort Worth and Amber Crouch and boyfriend Zach Cravens, Great grandchildren, David Charles and Tyler Nathan Lyons, Henry Clay Crouch. Olive Adelia and Barrett James Short. Brothers, Herman (Joyce) Batson, Normangee, Jim (Elizabeth) Batson, Bryan, and Sister-in-Law Jo Beth Batson, Madisonville. Numerous family members and special friends. In 1956 she married Nathan Crouch of Bedias. Eventually making their way to Angleton where they made their home. She graduated Madisonville High School in 1955 and attended Droughon's Business School in Dallas. She started her secretarial career at Humble Oil and Refining Company, Houston in 1956. In 1994 she retired from the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station after 31 years. On her retirement it was said "she was both the glue that held the Angleton Station together and the grease that allowed it to work." In 1982 she received the Distinguished Performance Award for Support Personnel from Texas A&M University. A co-worker said, "Every organization needs at least one person willing and able to do whatever needs doing." At Angleton, that is Mary Jane Crouch. She was a member of First Baptist Church, West Columbia where she served in numerous departments, but her first love was the Puppet Ministry. She loved her God, her family and friends. She loved her daughter-in-law, Robin, like a daughter. She was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan, loved hats, was an avid Deer Hunter and loved anything adventurous: roller coasters, parasailing, glider planeing, snowmobiling, snowshoe hikes and wanted to skydive. Funeral Service are set for Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 12:30 pm. First Baptist Church in West Columbia, Texas with burial to follow in Angleton Cemetery. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6-8:00 pm. in Palms Funeral Home Angleton, Texas. A special thanks to Dr. Gautam Borthakur, Adrien Subora, PA, Allson Price, PA and staff at M D Anderson Cancer Center Hospital and Leukemia Clinic for the loving care given her during her battle with leukemia. Also, Dr. Alkesh Amin, Lake Jackson for the care given her over the years. Donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5005 Mitchelldale Suite 115, Houston TX 77092, www.lls.org. "She never wavered in her faith that God was in control and she never gave up. She said that God would heal her or one day he would call her home; either way she won. Her battle has been won."
