Mary Sue Beard Smith of Danbury, Texas was born on Monday, Oct 22, 1951 in Freeport, Texas to Grady Day Beard and Rena Susie Bell Rape Beard and she walked through the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was the 8th of 9 children and had 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but ran "Carl & Mary's Quickstop" with her husband Carl. Mary was preceded in death by her loving parents Grady & Susie Bell Beard, brothers Henry Frank Beard, Edgar Lee Beard, J.W. Beard, Robert Glenn Beard, one sister, Alice Ruth Beard; granddaughters Amber Joe Norsworthy and Kimberly Ann Eccles; and great- grandchildren Wyatt Lee & Paisley Mae. Mary is survived by three daughters; Connie Sue Eccles (Gary) of Danbury, Jerri Renee "Sunshine" Davis of Trinity, Tx, and Dianne Kimberley Smith Roberts (Daryl) of Danbury. Grand Son Willie Eccles, Grand Son Justin Eccles (Michaela) and their daughter Adaline, Grand Son Scott Eccles; Great Grand Daughters Amberly Nicole Faith Parker and Madison Leigh Eccles; Great Grand Son Tanner Ryan Lane Eccles; Grand Daughter Shawnee Wilson (Ricky) and their children Kirsty Francis, Kimura Wilson, Darce Wilson; Granddaughter Shianne Ott and her children Brantley Craven and Whitley Ott; Grand Daughter Shaunessy Hogue (Justin) and their children Keegan & Kaisley; and Grand Daughter Carlie Comneck (David). She is survived by her loving brothers Daniel Beard (Willie Mae) of Angleton, Aaron Beard of Roseville, Michigan, and sister, Margaret Downey of Kansas. She is mourned as well by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Mary struggled for many years with different illnesses, but she declared her love for The Lord many times and accepted Him as her Lord & Savior. She is now finally at peace resting in His arms and reuniting with her beloved parents, siblings, and other loved ones who passed into Heaven before her. She will always be remembered for her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. The family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses, and medical workers who cared for her over the years. Mary will be laid to rest in the Danbury City Cemetery close to her Grand Daughters and Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2022at 10:00 am at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, with burial in Danbury Cemetery. Service Details.
