Mary Trevino Cosme, 94, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mercedes, TX, on August 19, 1923, to the late Epifanio Trevino and Lucia Cano Trevino. A beloved mother, grandmother (Wella), and great-grandmother. Mary was admired for her strength, selflessness, and nurturing nature. She treated everyone as if they were her child. Having been through her share of struggles on this earth, her faith remained strong until the very end. An active member of Santo Thomas Catholic Church and the Guadalupana Society for many years. She was also known for her amazing sewing ability, her famous homemade tortillas and delicious cooking served at Frank's Patio, owned by her brother Frank Trevino. She enjoyed watching game shows, reading mystery novels and doing crossword puzzles. But her love for her family surpassed everything else. She was a huge blessing to all those who knew her. Her legacy will live on through her immediate family. She is survived by three children; Olga Moya, Carmela Tedrick (Eric), and Kenneth Cosme Sr. of Angleton, TX. She is also survived by her siblings Olivia Trevino of Angleton, TX; Ysmael Trevino (Gloria) of Phoenix, AZ and Dora Trevino Woods of Seal Beach, CA. Her surviving grandchildren are Nicole Bowen, Kenneth Cosme Jr., Adrianna Cosme, and Trevor Tedrick. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ignacio Cosme, siblings Delia Yanez and Frank Trevino of Angleton, TX, and son-in law Octavio Moya. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 10am, with a rosary beginning at 9:30am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton, TX. Reception to follow in St. Basil's Hall.
