Matthew Ray Goodson

October 11, 1982 — November 20, 2018

Matthew Goodson was born October 11, 1982 in Angleton, TX. His parents, Bubba and Pam Goodson were blessed for 36 years with Matthew until Jesus called him home on November 20, 2018. He was surrounded by his family until his last moment here on earth and first breath in Heaven. Matthew loved to serve the Lord by doing ministry with his dad. Together they brought the Word to Pathway Men's Center every Sunday until its recent closing. Matthew and his dad were true ministry partners. Matthew also loved to work with his Dad. He had multiple sets of tools and asked for work boots for every birthday and Christmas. He was happy just watching workers at construction sites and making sure that no rest breaks were taken. Matthew and his mom had a special bond, Matthew would look for his mom when he needed special care. Matthew's mom always made sure he was looking good, dressed nice and had cologne on for his special friend Pam Willy. His mom worked diligently to get Matthew the best of education, having a well-rounded routine in the community that he loved and the best of health care. Matthew and his sister, Arianne, grew up close and loved each other deeply. He liked to go riding around with her and making sure the music was loud. He enjoyed visiting at her house without the parents! His sister always said Matthew made her a better person. It didn't take long for him to become friends with his brother in law, Jason. They always made sure to tell each other how tight they were with one another. The day Matthew became an uncle was a proud day for him. He named his niece Baby and spoiled her with lots of love and attention. When his second niece, Josie, was born he continued the spoiling and loved watching her play. Both of his nieces have Matthew's blue eyes. Matthew also volunteered at Walmart for several years and was proud of the job he did there. But his most enjoyable volunteer work was at the horse ranch in Pearland. Matthew's heart was big, and he loved well which also made him loved by many. One special friend whom he loved was Pam Willy who has worked with Matthew for 17 years. He always looked forward to his days with Pam. She would take him out into the community and they would look at work, walk around Lowe's/Home Depot, go out to eat, and she introduced him to the coffee shop group at Hastings (which later moved to Panera Bread) where he was well loved. Matthew liked to go out to eat at La Casona where he was known on a first name basis. There were not many places you could go with Matthew that someone did not know him. Matthew was very considerate and loved others at face value. Matthew had a sweet, sweet soul. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hermann Memorial. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Warner, Dr. Colasurdo, Dr. Pacheco, Dr. Burnazian and Dr. Mosquera, and many others who worked diligently and cared for him for many years. The family would also like to thank all the caretakers that helped his family throughout the years. Matthew is survived by his parents Bubba and Pam Goodson, sister Arianne and brother in law Jason Martin, nieces Alivia and Josie Martin, and favorite cousin/like brother Leo "the lion" Longoria. Matthew is also survived by several aunts and uncles: Linda Brumfield and husband Marty, Nancy Bacak and husband Mark, Debbie Biles and Dana Decker and husband Kevin, Ray Wagner and wife Sandy, Cindy Atkins and husband Tommy, and Rickey Wagner and wife Lisa.
