Maurine Rhodes Bivone, 97 of Angleton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2018. She was born on February 11, 1920 in Garrison, Texas to Mella and Thomas Moore. Maurine lived in Dickinson, Texas from 1971 to 2002 and then moved to Angleton to be closer to her family. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty-three years and retired in 1984. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dickinson for many years and was a member of Greater Heights Baptist Fellowship in Angleton. She was a volunteer at the Clear Lake hospital and visited shut-ins. She was also an active member of the Garden Club. Even at the age of 93, Maurine was still giving back by crocheting caps for children and babies at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She was a kind and loving person, always willing to help anyone in need. She loved the Lord and was a great "Prayer Warrior" for her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Bivone was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Rhodes and Joe Bivone; parents, Mella & Thomas Moore; 5 brothers and 2 sisters; and her son, Tommy Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Pyle and her husband, Jimmy, of Angleton; daughter Barbara Collard and her husband, Jimmy, of Angleton; eight grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home with pastor Larry Jacobs officiating.
