Maxie Stafford Gandy, 79, of Angleton passed away on May 8, 2014 at Angleton/Danbury Hospital after a 21 year fight with Leukemia. He was born to JC & Annie Mae Gandy on August 14, 1934 in Angleton, TX. Maxie was a lifelong diehard Angleton Wildcats athletic fan, and was the former Vice President of the Southern Baptist Men's Organization. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. John C. Cherry of Angleton, parents; Mr. & Mrs. JC Gandy of Angleton, sister and brother-in-law; Mr. & Mrs. EM Svoboda, and daughter Amy Gandy. Maxie is survived by his children; Chad E. Gandy, and Tammie Gandy-Watts, sister; Cherry Ann Martin and husband (Paul) as well as 15 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. The family requests donations be made to a Leukemia Research Foundation in his name.
