Maybelle Russell

MayBelle Russell, 95, of Angleton passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Angleton. Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Angleton with Dr. Rodney Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Mrs. Russell was born August 20, 1916 in Quitman, Wood County, Texas to Clarence & Lesbie Johnston Meadows. She had lived in Angleton for 16 years after moving from her long time home in Hawkins, Texas. She was very artistic and lovingly made quilts for family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her husband Herman Russell, Granddaughter Robin Parr, and Great-Grandson Brian Welch. Survivors include her daughters; Betty Zgarba & husband Weldon of Angleton, Glenda Parr & husband O.C. of Texas City, and Terri Herrington & husband Paul of Memphis, Tenn. 5 Grandchildren; Pamela Parr, Cindy Parr, Jay Zgarba (& wife Rhonda), Wendy Zgarba White (& husband Tom), & Raegan Moncrief. 6 Great-Grandchildren; Robin Welch, Zachary Welch, Cameron Parr, Harrison Zgarba, Barrett Zgarba, & Georgia Zgarba. 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Gavin Demers and Aiden Compton-Parr.
