Medeline Georgia Strebeck

May 24, 1930 — May 10, 2014

Madeline Georgia Strebeck, 83, of Angleton passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was born to George & Nettie Knott on May 24, 1930 in Marthaville, Louisiana. A Funeral Service is planned for Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, TX at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Angleton Cemetery. A public Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. also at Palms Funeral Home. She loved and was very proud her family-husband and her two boys. She was proud of both boys' successes, she was also proud of her extended family, her daughters-in-law and one grandson. He was adopted from overseas, but she welcomed him as her own and he could do no wrong in her eyes. She always treated people with respect and never passed judgment on anyone. She used to say "It takes all kinds to make the world." Prior to getting Alzheimer's disease, she was a fantastic cook, she made fantastic fried chicken and homemade French fries. She would make "big beans" for her brother every time he would visit from Georgia. She made homemade candy for her family and friends every Christmas. She was known for her homemade pecan pie. She always liked to read, work crosswords, and assemble jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her friend, Thurman Price, after her husband passed away. They would eat out, play dominos and visit. As a young lady in Louisiana, while reading the Shreveport Times she found a Dow Chemical ad for her husband's future employment. That is what brought them to Angleton. Then, later in life, while reading the Angleton Times, she found a Nuclear Plant ad for her son's future job. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but will be in Heaven without pain or suffering. If there were ever anyone who deserved to be in Heaven it would be Madeline Georgia Strebeck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years; David E. Strebeck. Madeline is survived by her sons; Douglas Strebeck and wife Linda A., and Ronald "Ron" Strebeck and wife Karen, grandson; Dustin Strebeck, brother; Garland Knott and wife Jo, , and close friend and fellow domino player; Thurman Price, as well as numerous family and friends.
