Melissa Lea "Missy" Penney

Melissa Lea "Missy"(Baker) Penney, 53, of West Columbia passed away on August 6, 2021 in Galveston. Missy was born on November 22, 1967 in Aransas Pass to parents Billy Ray and Mary Helen (Cotten) Baker. She married Richard Nolan Penney on June 11th, 2016 in Clear Lake, Tx. Missy worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Angleton Fire Department Fire Chief for over five years and was an integral part of the team at the fire department. Missy loved getting together with family and cooking for them gave her great joy. She had compassion for others and it was in her heart to care for them. Those that knew her had someone that they could trust and depend on. She was also very talented and had a gift of creating ceramics and porcelain dolls. Because of this talent she was awarded many ribbons at the State Fair. Her family was important, but she also greatly loved her fur babies Maggie and Molly. Those that preceded her in death include: Grandparents Helen Cotten, Peggy Good, D.D. and Etta Jones. Mother Cindy Goff and Father in Law Leonard Penney. Left to treasure an abundance of memories include her husband Richard Nolan Penney of West Columbia; parents: Billy Ray and Lynn Patrice Baker; Mother in law Maris Penney; step daughter: Suzanne Elizabeth Penney; sister: Brooke Massie; brothers: Kevin Mowles and Melinda Stephens, Clint and Jennifer Baker, Cody and April Baker. Nieces and nephews Jared, Jacoby, Roy, Cordelia, Mallory, and Phillip. Sister in law Shauna Cox, Brother in Law Tim Penney along with numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Palms Funeral Home. Reception to follow at First United Methodist Church 219 N. Arcola St. Angleton TX 77515. Food is being provided by the AFD Red Raiders. In lieu of flowers donations in Missy's honor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society would be appreciated. Service Details.
