Mellie Beatrice Grant Duncan

Mellie Beatrice Grant Duncan, 95, died on July 4, 2021 at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas. She was born on December 22, 1925 in Walhalla, SC to Ernest and Lucy (Garrett) Duncan. She married Charles Lloyd Grant on February 2, 1947. They had three boys: Charles, William, and Thomas. She remarried on June 1, 1984 to Dover Duncan and their family grew with the addition of his children: Barbara Bagwell and Harold Duncan. Throughout her lifetime Mellie enjoyed many things including: fishing, playing both bridge and dominoes, dancing, traveling, knitting and crocheting. Her greatest treasure was her family and they are blessed to have made many precious memories with her. Mellie was predeceased by her parents: Ernest and Lucy Duncan, youngest son, Thomas Grant; both husbands: Lloyd Grant and Dover Duncan; siblings: Elizabeth Duncan Perry, Alline Duncan Hatcher, and William Duncan; and her youngest great grandchild: Kasen Grant. Left to remember her include her sons" Charles Grant and wife Kathy, William Grant and wife Myrtle; stepchildren: Barbara Bagwell, and Harold Duncan; sister: Charlotte Bohanan; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Palms Funeral Home. Pastor Kenneth Hibbs will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Mellie Grant Duncan's honor to your favorite charity. Service Details.
