Michael Alan Peck

January 12, 1980 — July 6, 2021

Michael Alan Peck, 41, of Angleton, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his father, Patrick Peck, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather, Linda and David Englert; grandparents, Ronnie and Cecile Johnson; brother, Randy Peck and wife Kimberly; nieces, Alexis and Emily Peck; and a host of other family and friends. Michael was born in Galveston on January 12, 1980 and grew up in Bailey's Prairie. As a youth, he was active in church, serving as an acolyte at Holy Comforter in Angleton. He participated in baseball, football and played the tuba in band. He was active in Scouting and earned the rank of Life. He would raise and lower the flags daily at Westside on Walker. With a natural gift for music, Michael taught himself to play the electric guitar. He and several friends had a band - Special 51 and made lots of noise in the garage. He was a graduate of Angleton ISD and moved to Paige, Texas where he volunteered at Paige VFD. He loved the fire department and lived close to the station. He was often one of the first responders to rescue people from auto accidents. Michael took life safety very seriously and he earned many certifications in rescue and extraction. Michael was a talented electrician, working over 15 years in Brazoria County and the Austin area before returning to Angleton to work in the Maintenance Department for Angleton ISD. With his knowledge of fire and electrical codes, he was fiercely protective of the children in the Angleton schools. Often sarcastic, and with a very dry sense of humor, Michael was sometimes hard to get to know. But children saw through this faade and loved him instantly. He was a kid at heart and loved to wear Spiderman or funny t-shirts. Those adults who appreciated his quick wit were rewarded with a true friend. Michael enjoyed NASCAR, Monster Trucks, shooting guns, riding his 4-wheeler and best of all, spoiling his nieces and his friend's children. We all loved "Uncle Monkey" and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on July 17th at 3pm at Holy Comforter Episcopal church in Angleton. Service Details.
